Abstract |
Although the control of the pain is a multidisciplinary work, the nurse role is the central nucleus in the treatment of the pain. In the acute pain, while calling the doctor, the nurse responsibility is to find out the origin of the pain, to value his repercussion, to initiate the pharmacologic treatment, as well as the psychological therapy, trying to diminish the anxiety of patient and family, and to evaluate the intensity of the pain, the characteristics of the pain and the treatment effectiveness. In the chronic pain, the nurse, in addition, has for aim to obtain that the patient be able to rest and keep daily habits, so that the patient be able to restore his autonomy, preventing anxiety disorders and depressive disorders that could make feel life as unbearable. |
