Abstract |
The aim of sensor-controlled pacemakers is to adapt their rate to the patient's work level and to meet the body requirements related to heart output. Consequently, a patient with a DDDR pacemaker, playing sports regularly, will need a stimulated heart rate adjusted to the exercise he does. In this study we have compared, on the one hand, the rate histograms of a patient with pacemaker who plays tennis on a daily basis to those of another patient with pacemaker, presenting the same pathology and using the same type of pacemaker, but who does not practice sports. On the other, we have compared the heart rates reached by the tennis player patient with a pacemaker, to those reached by a sportsman of similar age, constitution and training level but without any heart disease, while both were playing a tennis match, equipped with a Holter recorder. |
