Educación sanitaria a pacientes jóvenes sometidos a un cateterismo cardíaco.

Abstract

Objective: To measure the degree of anxiety (state and characteristic) and to value the efficacy of the sanitary education in patients less than 56 years old who are going to be submitted to a cardiac catheterization. To measure the welfare quality that the patient perceives.
Material and methods: Multicenter and prospective study. Four variables were used to study the characteristics of the population. Questionnaries employed: Survey A (Test of anxiety STAI A/E-A/R). Survey B (Questionnaire of satisfaction and comprehension of the information).  The sanitary education was utilized as an anxiety reductor. The period of study elapsed among 27/11/2001 and 27/03/2002.
Results: Six participating hospitals, 111 patients were incluyed. After receiving sanitary education, the degree of anxiety was increased in the 16,2% of the cases, it was not modified in 27% and in the 55,9% was diminished. More than the 75% referred, thanked and understood the sanitary education.
Conclusions: No statistical meaning exists with the sample of reference as for decatipos of the prior state anxiety to the sanitary education and the characteristic one. A statistically significant decrease of the anxiety after our sanitary education exists. The sanitary education diminishes the anxiety in young patients that are going to be submitted to a cardiac catheterization. To know the test clearly satisfies the patient.
