Recuperación precoz tras cirugía cardíaca en una unidad de reanimación posquirúrgica.

Abstract

The technique known as “Fast-track” or technique of “early recovering”, is a process of scheduling of the post-operative period of the patients under cardiac surgical operation, and that is planning to make not longer endotracheal intubation and the artifitial ventilation.
The objective of this study was observing if the operate patients of Cardiac Surgery admitted in our URPA during the first hours of the post-operative were extubated before the other patients admitted directly in the critical unit care (UCIC), and if had complications on the UCIC stay also in the Hospital stay and in the incidences of post-operative complications.
This “Fast-Track” group, 109 patients (1st Group), provides a comparative with a control group of 40
patients (2nd Group) under cardiac surgical operation during the same period of time, and they were admitted directly in the UCIC. In both Groups, we valued the intubation’s time, the UCIC stay and also the Hospital stay, the post-operative complications, and the hospital mortality.
At the end of the cardiac surgery, the patients of the 1st Group were moved into the URPA since they were extubed. The patients of 2nd Group, were moved directly into the UCIC.
Finally, to come to the conclusion, our research indicates that “Fast-track” produces in a URPA, allows to reduce an artifitial ventilation’s time and also of the intubations, avoid no increase in patients mortality and morbility rates. Although, that technique doesn’t decrease the UCIC stay in the Hospital.
