Nursing and the chest pain in a cardiology unit of hospitalization.

Abstract

Introduction: The chest pain (CP) is one of the most common and annoying symptoms into which the patients inform, represented 5 % of the medical urgencies. Its possible implication with potentially serious and even mortal diseases, causes that the experience of the CP is always traumatic and stressful. Their valuation and documentation, must be the angular stone in the care of the patient.
Objective: To value the capacity of “Identification and Valuation of the CP”, measured through the level of knowledge, motivation and attitudes of the infirmary personnel.
Method: Cross-sectional descriptive study in 125 professionals of infirmary of 17 units of hospitalization of the University Hospital Ntra. Sra. de Candelaria. A questionnaire of 20 questions closed and structured survey in three blocks was used: state of knowledge, behavior and motivation.
Results: Las drawn conclusions of the analysis of the data offered by the nurses, show that certain ignorance of some of the symptoms of risk of the CP exists, en the handling of the essential drug of the patient with these characteristics and the identification of the markers in the algorithm of performance of the CP.
Conclusions: In spite of a suitable level of global knowledge of the handling of the patient with DT, we detected the necessity to reinforce certain measures related to the effective protocols, and the guideline of administration of drugs. The elaboration of a route of performances, allows to identify the pain systematic and simple form, unifying criteria and to make well-taken care of standardized, increasing to the effectiveness
and the efficiency of an attention integral
