Abstract |
The aim of this research was to describe the cardiovascular risk factors (CRF) prevalence in the nursing staff and to evaluate the level of knowledge on them. Descriptive study on 242 polled randomly selected among the nursing staff to whom an autoadministered anonymous questionnaire was delivered. The number of sample was calculated with the Granmo program v.5.2. and the statistics were made with the program spss v.11.5. 98.3% were women with an average age of 35.29 years; the most prevalent CRF were smoking, 26.4%, hypercholesterolemia, 9.7% and hypertension, 7.1%. 95.5% refer to know the influence of all the risk factors. The CFR prevalence of the nursing staff is very high with regard to the knowledge that they have about it. In this group, health education interventions should be made to manage them to be health patterns to the remainder of the population. |
